Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy describes the types of cookies and similar technologies used on the soraia.io website, the purposes for which they are used, and how users can manage them. It is drafted pursuant to the Provision of the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali) of 10 June 2021 and EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR).
This English translation is provided for convenience. The Italian version prevails in case of discrepancy.
1. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files that websites send to a user's device (computer, tablet, smartphone) during browsing, which are stored and retransmitted to the website on subsequent visits. Similar technologies (local storage, pixels, fingerprinting) may serve analogous functions and are treated as equivalent to cookies for the purposes of this policy.
2. Soraia's approach
Soraia adopts a privacy-first approach: the soraia.io website is designed to operate with the fewest possible cookies and without third-party advertising trackers. We do not use behavioural profiling, retargeting, or targeted advertising tools.
3. Types of cookies used
3.1. Essential technical cookies
These are cookies strictly necessary for the operation of the website and the delivery of services requested by the user. They do not require prior consent (Art. 122 Italian Privacy Code). They include:
- Security and attack-mitigation cookies (e.g. CDN anti-bot cookies).
- Load-balancing and technical session cookies.
- Local storage of user preferences (e.g. selected language).
3.2. Third-party cookies
The website integrates a single third-party resource that sets essential technical cookies for its own operation:
- Cloudflare: used as a Content Delivery Network and for security/anti-bot purposes. It sets consent-exempt technical cookies to protect the website. More information: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
The website's typefaces are hosted directly on our own domain (self-hosted): no requests are made to third-party services (e.g. Google Fonts) to load fonts.
3.3. Analytics cookies
At this time, the website does not use third-party analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Hotjar, Meta Pixel) that require prior consent. Any internal traffic measurement tools used in the future will be configured to be assimilable to technical cookies (anonymised IP, no cross-site tracking, no sharing with third parties for marketing purposes).
3.4. Profiling and marketing cookies
Soraia does not use profiling, retargeting, advertising, or social media tracking cookies on its website. No cookies intended to build user profiles for direct marketing purposes — by Soraia or third parties — are set.
4. Cookie duration
The technical cookies used have varying durations:
- Session cookies: automatically deleted when the browser is closed.
- Persistent cookies: retained for a predetermined period, typically between 24 hours and 12 months depending on the technical purpose.
5. User cookie management
Users may at any time manage, block, or delete cookies through their browser settings. Disabling essential technical cookies may impair the proper functioning of the website.
Instructions for the main browsers:
6. Data transfers and non-EU providers
Some of the technology providers mentioned (e.g. Google, Cloudflare) are based in the United States or operate with global infrastructure. Data transfers take place in compliance with the safeguards provided for under the GDPR, in particular through Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission and, where applicable, on the basis of adequacy decisions (e.g. EU-US Data Privacy Framework).
7. Changes to the Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy may be updated in response to technical, organisational, or regulatory changes. The current version is always available on this page, together with the date of the last update.
